An Margadh Bia - Dráma

Rinneamar dráma beag den scéal ón leabhar Bun Go Barr, nuair a chuaigh an chlann go dtí an margadh bia. Bhí a lán stallaí difriúla ann agus bhí an chlann ag siopadóireacht don dinnéar. Cliceáil ar an ghriangraf atá thíos chun pictiúrí den dráma a fheiceáil.

Duathlon Training

5th class have spent the last 5 weeks training with Triathlon Ireland as part of a pilot project. We have been very lucky to have been chosen as a school to complete this project. The children have learned how to mount their bicycles properly after the line and how to dismount before the line. On Monday 12th October, at approxiamately 2:15pm, 5th class pupils will take part in a duathlon event, where all participants will receive a certificate and medal upon completion. We hope that as many spectators as possible will come and watch this event. It will be a weather dependent event. Click on the photo below to see a slideshow of pictures from the training sessions.

Pupils from 5th class have been very lucky to be chosen to partake in a Pilot Project which introduces duathlon training to schools. The aim of the project is to get more children interested and involved in a wide variety of sports. Anna from Triathalon Ireland joined us on Monday for the first of six sessions which involves the development of cycling and running skills. All 5th class pupils will take part in a duathlon competition against each other at the end of the 6 weeks.

Congratulations to 5th and 6th class who recently won a competition in the Eureka Science supplement that we get each week. All answers for the quiz were answered correctly and our name was pulled out of a hat as winners. We will be receiving a 50 euro voucher for Easons!!

Lego Creations

We were very fortunate to get the loan of a Lego Creation set. We worked in pairs using the programme on the laptop to create a variety of creations including a roaring lion, snapping crocodile, boat at sea, kicking legs, flapping bird and a drumming monkey. It was awesome to work as part of a team and we really enjoyed playing around with the sound effects and the speed of the motor!

World Book Day - Our Favourite Characters

Thursday March 5th is World Book Day. We love reading and it is a very important part of our day. We visit the local library every fortnight and we also take part in the Accelerated Reader programme in school.

Today we dressed up as our favourite characters from our favourite books. We shared this experience with the whole school and they really enjoyed meeting the real life characters from the books!!
