School CD - Shine A Light

Our school CD "Shine a Light" was launched on Thursday December 13th in the school Halla. Special guest on the night was Sharon Shannon, who delighted the crowd by playing a few tunes. All 13 tracks from the CD and many more songs were performed and a wonderful night with an abundance of festive spirit was enjoyed by all. CD's can be ordered through the school and are also available from shops in Corofin village. The cover of the CD was designed by 4th class pupil Áine Corbett.

Sports Day

Our school sports took place on Tuesday 19th of June and a great day was had by all. A variety of activities kept everyone entertained for the day. A big thank you to the Parents' Association who provided refreshments and helped out on the day. The children took part in races, musical chairs, obstacle races and a Tug-of-War competition. The novelty event was the teacher's Tug-of-War competition. Thank you to Gussie O'Loughlin, trainer of the Burren Tug-of-War team who came in to the school to train the children and who also acted as referee on the day. As part of our sports day, we took part in a Hazelbrook Farm Ice-Cream Funday to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland.  A total of 255euro was raised for this worthy cause. Here are some of the pictures from the day. To see more, please go to our photo gallery.
