Wonderful and Weird Hats!

As part of this year's Festival Of Finn the pupils from Juniors to 4th class have been busy creating Wonderful and Weird Hats. These creations will be worn in the parade during the festival. Click below to see a selection of their creations.


Scholastic Book Fair

The book fair is arriving in school next week with hundreds of new children's books to browse and buy. There are over 200 titles for you and your child to choose from and with prices starting from only €3.40, there's sure to be a book for everyone.You can browse before the book fair on


The book fair will be available for you to visit at the following times:


Thursday, March 27th: 9.00am to 9.30am & 2.10pm - 3.00pm

Friday, March 28th: 9.00am to 9.30am & 2.10pm - 3.00pm


Your child will get the opportunity to visit the book fair daily with their class.

Free home access to Encyclopaedia Britannica

Scoilnet has previously offered home access to Encyclopaedia Britannica to registered teachers. This access has now been extended to anyone who clicks on the link on This fantastic resource is completely free and will be beneficial to all pupils and their families.

World Education Games 2013

The World Education Games are the world’s largest education event.  Millions of pupils from all over the world take part.  They are designed to challenge and inspire students to engage with education. This year is also an attempt to set a new world record for the largest educational event.

Pupils from Scoil Mhuire are taking part in this event. The warm-up event is on-going at the moment and pupils can log on at school or at home to practice for the games which will take place next week. During the actual games pupils must try and complete as many challenges (1 minute duration) as possible out of 50 over a 48-hour period. As the host city is Sydney this year, World Literacy Day begins in Ireland at 10am on the 4th of March and runs for 48 hours. Similarly World Maths Day begins on 5th of March at 10am and runs for 48 hours.
